Key Implementation Partners

Oakland Goes Outdoors was intentionally designed to be a collaborative program that brings together the following organizations to equitably advance outdoor learning, environmental literacy and access to quality time outdoors for Oakland students.

We also have a number of programmatic partnerships with park agencies and service provider organizations,
which you can learn more about here.

The Riddell family with community members

We want to offer a special thank you to the Riddell Family!

In 1995, Kathryn and Robert Riddell established a donor advised fund at the San Francisco Foundation. The Riddell's main interests — youth and the environment — motivated their children, Jim and Cindy, to continue their legacy. As a result, they partnered with SFF, OUSD, and BAWT to launch Oakland Goes Outdoors during the 2018-2019 academic year. (Learn more about our history here)

They have continued to provide funding support and advisory input ever since. Without their transformational partnership, OGO would not exist.

Learn more about how the Riddell's incredible vision and generosity has seeded our work at OGO!
